Sofa Snuggle Blankie

I am off work poorly today - trying to prevent full on sinusitis 
So I am dosed up on pain meds, nasal spray, headache strip stuck to forehead and lots of Twinings Earl Grey Tea.
Ferdinand is looking after me

So as I am feeling sorry for myself I decided to dig my favourite sofa snuggle blankie out of the vacuum pack bag.
I love making snuggle blankies -  my other favourite is a very special one as I made it for my Mum.
So I will blog my other snuggles and handmade bed throws over the coming weeks but I am starting with this one.

its a bit crumpled due to storage

It was predominately made from upcycled Winnie the Pooh jammies with some other bits of fabric from my stash.

 

It has pockets for useful bits and bobs

or Nibbles :)

I used the embroiderd details as deorative patches and for the backing I used a nice snuggly repurposed fleece.

For extra warmth the inside is an upcycled 4.5 tog hollow fibre duvet and to make sure that it can be washed and dried without the inside all moving about I used the buttons from the jammies in the corners

I really do love making these - maybe you have some old jammies that are special and you want them turned into something that you can use and treasure. Or you would like me to raid my fabric box and make you a sofa snuggle.
